Katie is a licensed social worker who earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo in 2013. Prior to working at Anchored in Hope, Katie provided community mental health services and support to children ages 3-18. She provided therapy, case management, and crisis intervention to families, groups, and individuals in need of services and support. Katie developed therapeutic curriculum and facilitated different socioemotional groups for youth. She primarily provided services to individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, conduct related disorders, and autism. Katie utilizes a motivational, non-judgmental, and strengths-based approach to therapy. Katie has also utilized and provided education of C.A.R.E. and P.R.I.D.E. skills within her parent/child sessions. Katie utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, techniques from Play Therapy, among other techniques. Katie is also a certified Safe and Sound Practitioner. Katie strives to restore and improve clients’ emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning and to empower clients to enhance their lives and relationships.
