Mary Wesley is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisor Designation in Ohio and a Licensed Master’s Social Worker in Michigan who has been working in mental health since 2014. Mary specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ youth and adults. Mary graduated with her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Lourdes University and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan. In addition, Mary has training in Animal Intervention Therapy, Safe Zone training and additional training in the WPATH Standards of Care. She is also a certified Safe and Sound Practitioner.
Mary is an active member of World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality, and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Mary is also one of only a handful of providers in Ohio and Michigan currently registered with the Gender Affirming Letter Access Project (GALAP).
Mary utilizes a LGBTQIA+ affirming , trauma-informed approach to working with youth and adults, while focusing on providing a safe, welcoming, non-judgmental environment for everyone. Mary’s therapy style can be summed up as “out of the box” and she aims to make therapy something to look forward to as part of a regular self-care routine. Overall, Mary’s goal is to help her clients find their voice and partner with them to eliminate the barriers they face in day to day life.
