Desiree VanValkenburg is the Practice Manager at Anchored in Hope Counseling. As the Practice Manager, Desiree is responsible for day-to-day operations of the office, as well as the supervision of the Front Desk and Billing Department. Desiree acts as our HIPAA Compliance Officer and OHMAS Client Advocate.Desiree holds a degree from the University of Phoenix in business fundamentals and has many years of management experience.Desiree is the contact person for any questions regarding Anchored in Hope Counseling office policies and procedures, internship inquiries, and grievances. Avery Fleischmann

Avery Fleischmann is one of our receptionists at Anchored in Hope Counseling. You will often find Avery at the front desk with a smile or a laugh, checking in clients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, helping with billing tasks, and answering any questions or emails clients may have.Avery has several years of customer service experience; however this is her first time working in a mental health setting. Avery enjoys assisting clients and handling all of the tasks involved AIH’s office. Avery is a junior at The University of Toledo, majoring in Social Work, with a passion for those effected by addiction. Jackie Nowowiejski

Jackie Nowowiejski is the Medical Billing Specialist at Anchored in Hope Counseling. As the Medical Biller, Jackie is responsible for overseeing the billing process for the office and patients. Jackie holds a Medical Coding and Billing degree and has many years of experience in the Medical Billing field. Jackie is responsible for determining insurance eligibility, developing self-pay arrangements, resolving patient billing problems, and following up on payer denials. Jackie also consults with patients as to initiate private pay collections if insurance is cancelled or denied and on any other billing issues as needed.In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband watching her sons Kole play tackle football.
