Samantha Habusta, MSW, LSWSam’s training has focused on family-centered services including child development and
parent education, trauma-informed care, and person-centered services. Sam desires to create a safe space where individuals feel heard and validated. Sam strives to support families through challenging situations and to assist parents in identifying strategies to respond to their children’s behaviors and emotions. Samantha Habusta (Sam), earned her Master of Social Work degree from Spring Arbor University. After completing her Bachelor’s in Health Care Administration at the University of Toledo, Sam took time away from a professional career and focused on family life and raising children. Sam is dedicated to youth services. She spent several years mentoring teen girls in an inner-city youth program and in 2017, Sam and her husband became licensed foster parents, specializing in working with teens. It was her work in these roles which directed her path toward social work. Sam is passionate about helping people work through their trauma. Because of her experience as a foster parent, Sam understands the sometimes-challenging role of parenting a child with complex needs and seeks to support children and families. Sam is Certified in the Safe and Sound Protocol and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
